Zadira is a former mentor to Koriand'r.
Biography[]
During Koriand'r's life, Zadira served as a mentor to the princess and advised her both in combat and in matters relating to her destiny. Whether Zadira is alive or not in current times is still unknown, as Kory asks if she is dead when she sees Zadira.
When Kory is petrified by a spell placed on an elf's artifact, Zadira, or an illusion of her, appears to her in Elko's Diner. She warns Kory that she alone can save 'them', and Kory asks her not to be cryptic. She invites Kory to play a song on the duke box using Kory's birth year on the Tamaranean calendar, and she recounts that Zadira used to play the song to inspire Kory to train harder.
Kory translates part of the song, "when the red moon fills the sky, my true fight begins", and Zadira explains that it is about her destiny and that Kory's destiny has arrived, that she needs to be the warrior Zadira trained her to be. Zadira also eludes to Dick Grayson and his role in Kory's future. [1]
Zadira once again appears in the diner when Kory transports herself, Rachel and Sebastian Sanger there to protect him from May Bennett's kidnapping attempts. She expresses disgust in both Rachel and Sebastian, particularly the latter, and judges Kory for protecting him rather than killing him; which she claims is a part of Kory's destiny. She shows Kory a vision of the future in which she sees a little girl with a red balloon running to Dick and calling him 'daddy'. Dick, in the vision, turns to Kory and invites her with him as the others are waiting, and Kory is led to a picnic where the Titans are celebrating the little girl's fourth birthday.
The vision warps and Kory cries out in pain as the vision is torn away from her, and Zadira warns her that Sebastian is a threat to the future she just saw. Kory still refuses to hurt Sebastian, and Zadira disappears in disgust.[2]
