History[]
Gotham City had an outbreak of The Clench but it was contained. Sometime after the Gotham outbreak, Dayton Labs acquired the strain allegedly for research purposes.
Gizmo and his crew infiltrated Dayton Labs in an attempt to steal The Clench and auction it off to the highest bidder. The Titans intercepted Gizmo and his henchmen and recovered the Ebola strain. Superboy and Gar Logan turned the sample of The Clench over to the San Francisco Police Department [1]
