The Maroni crime family is a criminal organization. They had a branch in Gotham City. Their calling card is hydrofluoric acid, used to burn their victims to death.
History[]
The Maroni crime family attacked Harvey Dent with hydrofluoric acid. In 2002, at the behest of the crime family, Tony Zucco helped to kill John and Mary Grayson. Some years later, after being arrested on charges of racketeering and tax evasion, Zucco snitched on the Maroni crime family. When his police van was stopped by Robin, however, members of the crime family intervened and killed Zucco with hydrofluoric acid-laced bullets. They eventually moved on to members of his family.[1]

- In the DC comics, the Maroni crime family was led by Big Lou Maroni, rivals of the Falcone crime family. After the death of Sal Maroni and Carmine Falcone, the Maroni crime family was absorbed into the Falcone crime family.
