Biography

Meeting Rachel

Dani meets Rachel after the girl runs away from Donna at a Soup Kitchen in San Francisco. The two quickly become friends as they talk about their problems with family, and compare themselves to the children of chameleons whom die shortly after laying their eggs and therefore never meet their children, with Rachel commenting that they're free from parents. As the two hang out they are confronted by a man, Caleb, who demands she come home and tells Rachel to mind her own business when she tells Dani she doesn't have to go with him. Caleb begins to beat Dani but is stopped by Rachel, who uses her powers to pin him against the wall and scare him off. Instead of being frightened of Rachel and her demonic powers as Jason had been, Dani tells her she is awesome and the girls to an apartment where Dani and three other girls are squatting, both unaware that an aspect of Rachel's powers has animated a nearby gargoyle that pursues and kills Caleb.

Dani performs a tarot reading on Rachel after she has a dream of Dick dying at Deathstroke's hand and tells her that her subconscious knows the way back to the light and that Rachel will suffer a great loss or sacrifice soon. Dani is informed by one of the other girls, Eriel, that her father Caleb is dead. Rachel assures her that it wasn't her but Dani says she's glad as Caleb would beat her and claims she hopes he died screaming.

Personality

Dani appears to be a highly independent girl who gets by with the help of her own street smarts and her friends. She has a slightly macabre sense of humor and displays a dislike of parental figures, finding kinship with Rachel in this fact. She isn't easily afraid as she finds Rachel's demonic powers awesome and only seems to be afraid of her father. She believes strongly in astrology and knows how to read someone's tarot. She's shown to have a dark streak as she is glad her father died and hopes it was a painful death.
