Caul's Folly is a remote town near Metropolis, in the United States of America.
History[]
In 2001, ten years before the arrival of Dick, Kory and Rachel, the town was hijacked by May Bennett and her acolytes. While the original town was destroyed by a fire it was rebuilt into an interdimensional plane, and the town's inhabitants were in fact brainwashed into becoming loyal to May's cause and Trigon. They were then tasked with guarding The Horn, ready for when Sebastian Sanger would arrive to claim it.
A man by the name of Vinnie Peruzzi was tasked with maintaining a radio station that played across the entire town, his blood and lifeforce supporting the magic that controlled the town.
The only town inhabitant to escape the Church's brainwashing was William, whom was away at camp when the town was hijacked. He waited at the location of the town for ten years, believing he could sense his father and sister there.
The inhabitants initially mistook Dick Grayson for the Son of Trigon and like other Church of Blood acolytes, believed Rachel to be a heretic. They attempted to kill Rachel, however one officer was reluctant due to her having the Mark of Trigon.
After Dick killed Vinnie and freed the town, Jacob and Megan were reunited with William, however the fate of the other inhabitants who had not evaded the brainwashing is unknown.
